Horizon Health Care is seeking a full-time Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to work at any of our mental health clinics within our network of clinics in South Dakota.

This Nurse Practitioner (NP) position earns a competitive wage, depending on experience. As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you work as part of a health care team to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services. After greeting patients warmly and listening to their concerns, you study their medical histories and perform physical and mental health examinations.

After making a diagnosis, you develop and implement a treatment plan which may include providing appropriate referrals for consultations. Within the scope of the supervising physician's written delegated prescriptive authority, you provide prescriptions for medications to accomplish the treatment plan

Providing patient-focused care, you always take the time to instruct and counsel with patients and their families about their treatment plan. You are also conscientious about completing appropriate documentation of all evaluations, care, and services rendered. You get great satisfaction out of seeing your patients heal and enjoy a better quality of life!


  • Licensed as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the state of South Dakota
  • Department of Health Controlled Substance Certification, and DEA license
  • Experience with electronic health records
  • Excellent patient care skills


This is a full-time, Monday - Friday position at a community health care center.
