CERTIFIED NURSE PRACTITIONER (CNP) - PSYCH

Community Health Center of the Black Hills (CHCBH) located in Rapid City adjacent to the beautiful Black Hills of western South Dakota is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in behavioral health.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CERTIFIED NURSE PRACTITIONER (CNP)

As a Certified Nurse Practitioner you work as part of a health care team to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive comprehensive behavioral health services. After greeting patients warmly and listening to their concerns, you will determine a differential diagnosis and plan for intervention.

After making a diagnosis, you develop and implement a treatment plan which may include providing appropriate referrals for consultations, ordering, prescription of pharmacological agents and treatments, non-pharmacological therapies, and teaching learning theory with patients and their families to influence patient outcomes.

Providing patient-focused care, you always take the time to instruct and counsel with patients and their families about their treatment plan, while maintaining confidentiality and patient privacy. You are also conscientious about completing appropriate documentation of all evaluations, care, and services rendered. You get great satisfaction out of seeing your patients heal and enjoy a better quality of life!

COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE CENTER WORK SCHEDULE

Full time Monday Friday or may be a compressed 4-day week, 10 hour days.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR CERTIFIED NURSE PRACTITIONER (CNP)

Education/Licensures:                               

  • Masters prepared Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry with 2 or more years of experience
  • Current Un-encumbered license in South Dakota
  • State Controlled Substance Registration
  • DEA

Prior Experience:                

  • 1+ years of experience in Electronic Medical Record use.
  • Experience managing multiple projects/priorities.
  • Experience with process improvement and/or quality improvement methodologies.
