Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Community Health Center of the Black Hills, Inc. is a well-established clinic located in Rapid City, SD adjacent to the beautiful Black Hills of western South Dakota. Physician services are provided, including primary care, dental, mental health counseling, lab, x-ray, and pharmacy. Community Health Center of the Black Hills provides primary care to about 12,000 patients per year in Pennington County and surrounding areas.

We are currently seeking a full time CNP or PA-C to join our team! You will focus on providing high quality patient care as part of a healthcare team. Through a staff of Medical Doctors, Physician Assistants, Certified Nurse Practitioners, Dentists, Behavioral Health providers and support staff, Community Health Center of the Black Hills gives unconditional primary care.

The CNP/PA-C appropriately diagnoses, educates, and initiates treatment for patients; 

  • Provide primary health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Assess and manage common acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Consult and make referrals to physicians and other health care members of the heath care team as appropriate.
  • Comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents and treatments, and non-pharmacological therapies.
  • Teaching and counseling individuals, families and groups are a major part of the CNP/PA-C activities.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program OR
  • Graduate of an accredited academy of physician assistant.
  • Masters in nursing or physician assistant studies.
  • Current unencumbered CNP/PA-C license in state of South Dakota.
  • State controlled substance registration required.
  • DEA certification required.
  • CPR certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
